Foundations are spawned underneath plots when placing a plot with the Foundation label. The spawned foundation can be changed using a plot's ASAM sensor.

Craftable foundations can also be crafted in workshop mode from the SS2 > Foundations and SS2 > Terraformers menus.

Terraformer foundations generate sloped terrain along their edges to turn their blocks into mounds.
